Jordan Haviland - Co-Founder

Jordan has been a lover of gadgets, computers and video games his entire life. He attended Harvard University where he was captain of the varsity baseball team and studied the History of Science - with a particular focus on the history of computers and entrepreneurship within academia. His older brother gave him a Raspberry Pi for his birthday when he was 20 years old and he was struck with the idea of how much fun he would have had if he had been given one when he was 12.

After working in private equity in Boston for several years Jordan joined an augmented reality startup company in San Francisco.  He later attended Harvard Business School. Jordan now runs an investment firm in Boston focused on investing in small businesses.

Michael Langer - Co-Founder

Michael has spent most of his life exploring numbers and patterns - for fun. It started with baseball card statistics as a kid and grew to include the stock market as an adult.

He feels strongly about the importance of learning to code and believes that our future will revolve around our ability to interact with computers.

Outside of The Young Coders Society, Michael is on the Corporate Development team at Pear Therapeutics. He runs the search, evaluation and in-licensing process for new technology and products, as well as co-leads the competitive intelligence team.

He recently was selected to be a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. This is awarded to individuals under 30 for their potential, achievements and drive to make a contribution to their communities.

Prior to Pear, Michael spent time at several startups and venture capital funds including Akili Interactive Labs, Udacity, Modern Meadow, Polaris Partners, the Experiment Fund and Boston Seed Capital.

Michael is a graduate of Lehigh University where he majored in Science, Technology and Society and had a double minor in Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development.
